Sparta Area Churches Begin Receiving AED's From Chapter 127
Mended Hearts Chapter 127 in Cookeville has expanded their AED program to include coverage to additional counties throughout the Upper Cumberland area.  AED's and accompanying training sessions have been held outside the Putnam County (Cookeville) area to include Overton, Cumberland, Jackson, Warren, and White Counties.

AED's are provided free by Chapter 127 following training to church, school, or organization members by local county Emergency Medical Services (EMS).   The response from the public has been phenomenal and the Chapter always has a standing list of those requesting AED's and training.  Although emphasis in the past has been primarily on churches and businesses with larger regular groups of "most susceptible" age persons, the Chapter is now receiving many requests from schools.

Bear Cove Baptist Church in Sparta was the first church in White County to receive an AED from Chapter 127. Approximately 15 church members received CPR and AED training by the White County EMS who will maintain the unit(s) and provide update training.
