Chapter 127 Visiting Program - Accredited Visitors
2007-2010 Mended Hearts, Inc., Chapter 127 All Rights Reserved
Access to heart patients is naturally restricted and visiting periods are controlled for obvious reasons. It is essential that visitors do not do or say things that may hinder medical procedures or disturb either pre-surgery or post-surgery patients.
Members who wish to become regular visitors to heart patients must be certified. What exactly does that mean? Simply, that members receive training from professional medical staff as to "do's" and "don'ts" in visiting to ensure that patients do in fact receive hope, encouragement, and other support. Visitors DO NOT give medical advice. Specific questions patients may have about medications or the need for medical procedures are always referred to their attending physicians or cardiologists.
